I need a 50' ethernet cable to network my Xbox and they run around 35-50 dollars. I found online though a 50' patch cable for a bit cheaper. So I was wondering if a patch cable can be used to connect something to the Internet or is it just for networking computers to each other.

And if a patch cable can be used to connect to the Internet, what is the difference between a standard ethernet cable and a patch cable.

Any info will be greatly appreciated, thanks

.....a patch cable is a standard ethernet cable...they're the exact same thing just different names....you can't specifically use either to connect to the internet...but i assume you mean connect to your modem or router
