Trevuren-, who just spend alot of time helping me bring back to life my Windows2000 PRO system-his last instruction has left me clueless. To Completely clean MY SYSTEM, he says to
RE-ENABLE YOUR SYSTEM RESTORE-
well, if Trevuren is reading this, when I first had this problem over a week ago and i was trying to research it myself, some site i found told me (i think it was WINDOWS site) to SIMPLY go to SYSTEM RESORE---I spent probably 2 hours looking for this before i found out that WINDOWS 2000 Does NOT HAVE THIS FUNCTION. So NOW, here i am, at tail end of my 75 hour journey trying to fix my problem and what do i hear again??? SYSTEM RESTORE>>>>>>>>>>>>WELL CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL me how to get it or make it or is there an equal to it in windows2000 or have i spent the last week of my life totally in VAIN BECAUSE I NOW CANNOT COMPLETE THIS JOURNEY WITHOUT SYSTEM RESORE???? PLEASE help before i explode-

on XP you do this:

Right-click MY COMPUTER go to PROPERTIES
and there should be a tab called system restore.

i don't think that win2000 has a system restore :tazz:

SP4 (service pack 4) should prevent you needing that system restore.

Hi tangela,

I see that you are still obsessing about your computer as you called it yourself.
Relax. I made a slight error that in no way endangers the fix that we did together.

Windows 2000 does not have a System Restore so just skip this part and go on with the rest of the preventon recommendations.

If you get lost in the temp folder clean up part, do the following:

Please click HERE to download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder and doubleclick on sss.exe. Check the boxes under the 'Items to Clear' tab and click 'Clear Selected Items'. Reboot when prompted.

Get some sleep, please

Regards,

Trevuren
