Hi G2G. I've had Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 for quite a while now but only recently I found that the shortcut to the program from the Start Menu was missing. When I hover over the program's name in the Start Menu, all that shows up is "Visual Studio 2005 Remote Tools", "Visual Studio 2005 Tools", and "Visual Studio 2005 Documentation". As of right now, the only way for me to start the program is to open up a project I made before with the program.

Is there a way for me to get it back on the Start Menu? I'm sure this is a very simple question but I really appreciate any help!

Thanks

the easy way would be to go to the start menu folder (C:\Documents and Settings\all users\Start Menu\Programs) and find the visual studio folder...and create a shortcut to the visual studio EXE (located somewhere in the program files folder)

Ah, I understand how that would work. However, I can't find the EXE anywhere I even did a search for it on the computer. Either I'm missing it, the search function is broken, or my EXE actually disappeared haha. Any ideas?

Thanks Again!

...you can't find the EXE....but you can open up a project? not a compiled exe...but an "in progress" project?

Okay you are right it was kind of fishy. After tediously trying all EXE's in the folder I managed to find a "devinv.exe" which leads me to the correct program so i just created a shortcut to that instead. Phew!

Thanks for the help!
