If there is a custom install option, go with that to see what is installed, or load the CD, cancel set up, click start, my computer, right click the drive with the CD, click explore to see what is on the disc
You would need to post a list of programmes so someone can give their opinion as to which are necessary

Well I mean the technician that comes to set it up will install stuff.

He will likely tell you which programmes are installed if you ask, say it is in case already installed programmes develop errors. He may be duty bound to install whatever is on the CD, though he may tell you which are not essential
It is unlikely you will be unable to disable or remove anything the technician installs
Screenprint the programme files folder, also common files folder (in programme files folder), then you will be able to compare the before and after

When Verizon installed my FiOS they put nothing on the computer. A search of the hard drive turns up only a Verizon icon which was probably put there when the installer went on line to set up the programme. They do not give you a disc as it is not needed, and their 'phone service is first rate if you need help or have a problem.
