can someone help i cant boot up my computer it says the following file is missing or corrupt <Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe.
please re-install a copy of the above file.. i cant find my recovery disk any where im i jost SOL or is their a way to fix this

when i hit f8 it says please select a boot device
with 3 options
none are safe mode
not sure y?

yep that worked how ever it wont let me open in safe mode

Borrowing a same version XP CD would let you repair it without losing data
