Hello everyone. I am trying to connect my ZTE mobile phone to my pc (win98se). The ZTE website has a "drivers only" zip file that can be downloaded.... But I don't know where to extract the files/drivers to.

Thanks for any help.

I would create a folder on the "C" drive for your phone. Unzip to that folder.
When you install the phone and it looks for the driver, point to that folder.
You should be good to go.

Let us know how you make out.

Thanks 123Runner. Problem is, when I connect the phone using the usb, the cursor changes to an hourglass, but only for a second or two, then it turns back to a cursor, and that's it. Nothing.

I know what you mean. It should detect new hardware and prompt me to look for the driver, but that doesn't happen.

There may be an executable file in the ZIP file after it is unzipped which will install everything for you. Did you check for one? Also, there may be a readme.txt file you need to read first.
