Ok
With your internet speed i would recomend a mabe 16-20 person server without client download off as downloading can take up bandwith

right so setting up your server...

First you need to make a server config with all the server settings in

to do this go to http://www.noginn.ts...o.uk/codserver/
It's pretty simple to follow although you dont need to fill in the IRC (.IRC), Location (.LOCATION), Server IP (net_ip)

and then tick the buttons for weapons and maps

Attached a basic server config for all weapons you can open and edit (i recomend using notepad. Righ click open with)

Ok... So now you have got a server config put this in the call of duty mainfolder
E.G default installation place
C:\Program Files\Call of Duty Game of the Year Edition\Main
(MUST BE PUT IN THE MAIN FOLDER!!)

Then right click on call of duty multiplayer desktop icon
In the target box it should say something like#
"c:\Program files\Call of Duty Game of the Year Edition\CoDMP.exe"

On the end of that add +exec allweapons.cfg (or dedicated.cfg. dpends on what you called your server config)
So that it looks like this
"c:\Program files\Call of Duty Game of the Year Edition\CoDMP.exe" +exec allweapons.cfg
(NOTE THE SPACE BETWEEN THE " AND + THIS IS IMPORTANT!)

Now open up CoD from the desktop icon you just modified it should start loading a game straight away so just keep pressing escape till the main menu comes up

Then go start new server
MAKE SURE DEDICAED IS SET TO INTERNET

And for now turn pb off

Now the CoD console should appear if it does then that means you server works!

But... Were not finished yet if you have a router you need to set this up
if not skip to the part after the ---- (dashes) Labeld The Fianl Part
You have to set up a static ip and port fowrad.

For setting up a static ip (your computer always gets the same ip. need this for portforwarding) on your router you need to go to http://www.ip-adress.com/ and get yor routers ip adress. copy this down

once you have this open up a new internet page and paste the ip adress in to your internet adress bar. hit the go button and wait for a cople of seconds

Now a log in box will appear...
if you have not changed it the deafult log in will be
Username:admin
Password:password

This should get you on to your router

Next look on the tabs down the left hand side, look for one that says lan ip setup (or something to do with that)
Then look on that page for adress reservation (again might not be that exactly but will be something like that as i dont no what router you have)

Once you have found that click on add
it will then come up with a page with the list of computers on. find your computer name and put a tick in the box next to it
then click add

Now write down that ip adress as you will need it later

now your computer should have a static ip adress!

If your using a router you'l need to forward some ports so that other people can join!

Go to http://www.portforwa...routerindex.htm

Select your router type (if you do not no it should be written on the back e.g Netgear DG814 )

Then it should take you to another page look for call of duty and click on it
Follow this guide exactly (and put in your static ip adress as well as it will say at the top) as it will tell you how to port forward through your router

The ports you have to forward are

TCP:28960
UDP:20500
UDP:20510
UDP:28960

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now the final part!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go to Start/Control Pannel and Click on windows firewall or security center/Windowsfirewall

Then click on the exceptions tab at the top and click add port

Type in a name e.g cod1 - cod4
and forward the
TCP:28960
UDP:20500
UDP:20510
UDP:28960

Make sure its the right TCP or UDP!

Now click ok and rehost your server

Then go to join game and see if you can find it!
if you can then you did it correctly if not go back and see if you did anything wrong

i no its a bit complicated and took me quite a while to understand but its good when you gt a server up and running

Hope this all helps :whistling:

SpuD

Edit sorry i'm not allowed to upload a demo .cfg but will try and get someone to do it for me

You mean once the games finished it loads a new map straight away?
that's becuase when you made the server config it does automatic map rotation

hmm... i'm not sure why it dosent come up
are you trying to port forward throught 2 router?
what router have you got?

log back on to your router and make sure Use Router as DHCP Server has go a tick next to it. if not put 1 in the box!

ok that makes it load easier
sorry i just thought you might have a router :whistling:

You have to put the tcp/udp thing in to your fire wall not the cod. this has te be done Before you start the server

To do this Go to Start/Control Pannel and Click on windows firewall or security center/Windowsfirewall
a new window should open that looks likle this...

Now that the firewall window has opened click on the exceptions tab at the top

Then click add port

Type in a name e.g cod1 - cod4
and forward the
Posted Image
TCP:28960
UDP:20500
UDP:20510
UDP:28960

Make sure its the right TCP or UDP!

Now click ok and rehost your server

Then go to join game and see if you can find it!

Who is your isp?
as ive herd before that some isp's block the ports for security reasons
all you have t do is ring them up and ask them about it and they should unblock it

Mods...
Well theres lots of these but this is where it gets more complicated and you can spend hours trying to get everything right

The Mods i would recomend are:
AWE (Additional war effects)
Merciless (works with AWE)
CoDaM (Quite a complicated one)

There are the best few i have found but there are others
you can get these mods from http://www.maps-n-mo...QL_Mods_CoD_All

BECAREFUL NOT ALL MODS WORK TOGEATHER AND WILL GivE YOU A SCRIPT COMPILE ERROR

Have fun playing with these Mods

Il have a look about not comeing up on cod list

SpuD

Edit:It is a CoD server you are trying to host not a CoDUO ??

ok i see your using CoDmp 1.3. you would be better off getting the 1.5 patch as it makes it easier but if your happy with 1.3 stick wih that
also as your server config file you made is set up for CoD 1.5, im not sure if it will work properly and will cause the server to crash

What the...?

Thats what appears in the console, thats normal its just the maps loading up and everything
CoDuo is the Call of Duty United Offense expansion pack

comcast. il have a look in to if they block ports
it's higly unlkley but ive heard about it happening before
for everything you said you want in the mod you can get the with the AWE MoD

you can download it from http://www.maps-n-mo...QL_Mods_CoD_All or http://callofduty.fi..._Duty/Mods;2870

One you have downloaded extract the files to a folder on your desktop and edit the awe.cfg to your needs
it explains basically everything in it
Just in front of the commands there will be a // delet this for tyhe command to work
