Hi there. I have a problem where at random times i cannot click the active window in whatever program i am running. I can see the window and everything looks normal but i cannot click on it at all. It happens on every program i run and at random times.

The only way i have of temporalily sorting the problem out is to click Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on that window twice. However, it is a recurring problem and a VERY VERY annoying one.

Can someone help me out and advise what can be done to erradicate this problem?

Cheers

First I would run scannow. This site offers a good explanation: http://www.updatexp....cannow-sfc.html

Then I would run checkdisk. Open "My Computer" and right click on your hard drive. (C:\)
Select Properties. In the dialog box that opens choose the tab labeled Tools.
Check both boxes and click the Start button. Windows will announce that it is necessary to reboot. Do so and wait for the process to complete. It will take some time.

When complete, go here: http://www.geekstogo...-Log-t2852.html Follow all the instructions, and then post a HiJackThis log here: http://www.geekstogo...o-Here-f37.html, along with full explanation of the problem and what you have done up to that point. A trained specialist will assist you.

If problems remain after being given a clean bill of health by your helper, post back in this thread, and we will assist in getting everything sorted.

scannow does not appear to run. a black window ( like and MS-DOS window) appears for a fraction of a second and then nothing happens. shall i just miss this step out and follow the remaining instructions?

Thanks
