Hello,

About a week ago I ran AVG Free Edition and I found that a Trojan was on my computer. After deleting the file from my computer Explorer.exe will no longer function. When I start my computer and select a profile I am brought to a blank blue screen where my desktop should be and there are no shortcuts or icons. I was able to open Task Manger and run a series of programs from there to check for additional malware but none was found.

From here I attempted to run Explorer.exe and Explorer.scf from the Task Manager and it will cause Explorer to briefly appear on screen and then disappear again. Occasionally when attempting to launch Explorer a quick error will display on screen to the affect that the C:\ drive cannot be accessed but it is too quick and infrequent for me to accurately interpret.

And finally today I have noticed that the Winlogon process is taking an enormous amount of my system resources to run and is causing all the actions on my computer to be very slow.

Any help on how I can fix my computer and make Explorer.exe work again would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.
