I have just had a USB 2 PCI card installed in my computer. The computer booted up fine the first few times but then I got the "media test failure - check cable" message.

Belkin were very helpful and sent a document to fix the problem. Again it worked the first few times but now nothing. I'm not getting past the Packard Bell logo screen.

Do you think it's a faulty PCI card (the computer seems to work fine when we take the card back out!)? Or could it be a complete coincidence and it is the hard-drive or board?

HELP!

I have been a techie for 14 years and I say it's the PCI card! The guy who sold it will say it's fine, but I say it's not.

You said it yourself - if the card is removed, the system is fine.

Just conduct yourself like you are sure of what you are saying - give the facts:

1. Without the card the pc was fine.
2. With the new card, the pc is dodgy.
3. With the card removed, the pc is fine again.

Don't let them sass you.
