I got exactly the same trouble, if im around with many players the fps gets nasty sometimes between 1 and 3, i dont know whats the problem here but i want it to get better. If it's the graphics card then where can i find the graphics cards information to check it?

The problem is textures for the most part. When there are lots of players, the texture memory your graphics needs/wants/can use goes through the roof. If your card has lots of video RAM, then you don't notice this lag as much while all these textures load up. If your card has only a small amount of RAM, this period is very noticeable and your character will almost freeze onscreen (FPS of 2 or less is common).
The solution here is to shell out some bucks for a new card. Get the best one you can afford with the most RAM, the fastest clock speeds, biggest memory bus, etc. There are websites (like Tom's Hardware for one) that list all kinds of current graphics cards and their benchmark scores for various applications and games. A similar list is available for laptop graphics cards.
As a general rule you will noticeable improvements if you jump even 2 series up in quality, ie. from your 6600 to 8xxx. So check your wallet, check some card prices, and then check those lists of scores. Then you will have a good idea what you want and can afford.
I am currently looking to get a new laptop, and graphics card and CPU are the top factors in my decisions.

I, myself, have a nVidia GeForce 6200 512MB. I pull a generally decent FPS running the card in OpenGL. I run WoW in Ubuntu 9.04 but it still ran great in Windows XP.
A recommendation for any video card for WoW would be anything nVidia. I don't really care for ATi cards, thats why I don't recommend them. I have always used nVidia cards with no issues.
Hope I helped.

I have used both GF8600GT 1024Mb and GF9800GT 1024Mb cards, and never had any trouble fps wise.
The GF8600GT is not the greatest card around, but for WoW it is more than adequate, and buying prices are low for that.

My Wow is very choppy as well, and my internet is great. My graphics card is GeForce 6100SE nForce 430. How horrible is that for WoW? And what would be better?
