Hi benoitrulz4life,

Lets get this show on the road.

Please print out a copy of these instructions so that they are easy to follow and so that you have access to them, when you have to reboot your PC

Please create a new folder on yopur C Drive (for example C\HJT) install HJT into that folder and run it from in there, that way it can create backups if required.

First, get rid of NewDotNet. Go to Control Panel: Add/Remove Programs and remove it. If it is not there, go here and follow Procedure 4: http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html

Set your system to show hidden files. Click on link below, if you do not know how to do this

http://www.microsoft...iddenfiles.mspx

Next we need to download several programs. Do not run any of the programs until instructed to do so and follow the sequence of the instructions.

A malicious .DLL file is disrupting the LSP chain on your computer. We need to get rid of it.

1. Please download LSPFix from here.
2. Run the LSPFix.exe that you have just finished downloading.
3. Check the I know what I'm doing box.
4. In the Keep box you may see one or more instances of newdotnet.
5. Select every instance of newdotnet and move each one to the Remove box by clicking the >> button.
6. When you are done click Finish>>.

Next please download the following two programs. Install them and update them both. Then run each one and have them fix anything that they may find.

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.3

Ad-aware S E 1.5

Carry out a free online virus scan from the following link and allow it to fix anything it may find.

Trend housecall

Now open up task manager by right clicking on bottom taskbar, select task manager then select processes. If the following task is found select end task

isrvs
desktop.exe

Rescan your PC with HJT .

Place a check against each of the following. Some of them may have been removed in previous processes, this is normal so do not be alarmed if not found

Ensure that you have no open windows apart from HJT. click on Fix Checked

Reboot PC into safe mode by tapping the F8 key whilst PC starts up, select safe mode by using arrow up key and press enter

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, if found and delete them:

]C:\WINNT\isrvs\

C:\WINNT\ICLEAR~1\
C:\WINNT\System32\hsrb.dll (file missing)
C:\Program Files\ClearSearch\
C:\Program Files\vyvoqm01\
C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\

Exit Explorer, and clean out your temp files by using the following program

Hi beno,

We are not finished yet.

Download Pocket killbox

*Click Here to download Killbox by Option^Explicit.
*Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
*In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
*In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete enter the file paths listed below ONE AT A TIME (EXACTLY as it appears, please double check to make sure!):

C:\WINNT\isrvs\desktop.exe
C:\WINNT\isrvs\ffisearch.exe

Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it after each one. When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the NO button. Do this after each one until you have entered the LAST file path I have listed above. After that LAST file path has been entered, press the YES button at both prompts so that your computer restarts. If you receive a message and your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

Then rescan with HJT and check the following if found

O2 - BHO: IE Update Class - {5B4AB8E2-6DC5-477A-B637-BF3C1A2E5993} - C:\WINNT\isrvs\sysupd.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {96A7DB1F-583A-420B-8140-91BA912576DE} - C:\Program Files\ClearSearch\ClearSearch.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {984A2055-57E2-456B-AE0D-16CB02CF25B2} - C:\Program Files\ClearSearch\ClearSearch.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Desktop Search] C:\WINNT\isrvs\desktop.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ffis] C:\WINNT\isrvs\ffisearch.exe
O18 - Filter: text/html - {950238FB-C706-4791-8674-4D429F85897E} - (no file)

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click FIX CHECKED

Reboot into safe mode again

Set up PC to show hidden files again and using windows explorer, delete the following if found.

C:\WINNT\isrvs
C:\Program Files\ClearSearch

Use the cleanup program again and then reboot your PC normally.

Rescan with HJT and post the log back in this thread.

Hi Again,

WE have a stubborn one here.

Download a free 14 day trial of Ewido from the following link.

Ewido

Install it and then double click on the new icon for the program. You can't miss it, it's a big yellow E. It will ask you to upgrade the database. Follow the instructions.
Once it is ready click on the Scanner button, Select C drive if you have more than one and then start.

grab a cup of coffee, sandwiches, book and sleeping bag as this will take some time. :tazz: Once the first problem is detected ensure you tick the box for all (bottom left) and allow it to continue.

At then end of the scan, it may ask if you would like to delete anything found in archive or zipped files, OK that request, then click on save report. SAVE to the default location, it will then generate a text file. Copy that to post in this thread.

Carry out another HJT scan and post the log back here, so we can sort out any remnants

Hi Beno,

Please reboot PC into SAFE MODE again, scan with HJT and place check next to the following entries.

O2 - BHO: IE Update Class - {5B4AB8E2-6DC5-477A-B637-BF3C1A2E5993} - C:\WINNT\isrvs\sysupd.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Desktop Search] C:\WINNT\isrvs\desktop.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ffis] C:\WINNT\isrvs\ffisearch.exe
O18 - Filter: text/html - {950238FB-C706-4791-8674-4D429F85897E} - (no file)

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Set up PC to show hidden files again. Using Windows Explorer, locate the following folder and delete it

C.WINNT\isrvs <----ENTIRE FOLDER

If you were unable to find the file then please follow these additional instructions:

Run killbox again, and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.

C:\WINNT\isrvs\sysupd.dll
C:\WINNT\isrvs\desktop.exe
C:\WINNT\isrvs\ffisearch.exe

The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

Let the system reboot.

Download a free 30 trial of Kasperky from the following link. Carry out a full scan and allow it to fix anything it may find.

Kaspersky

Rescan with HJT and post the log back in this thread

Hi benoitrulz4life,

From your log, I see nothing in the ways of trojans, nor any evil entities attempting to possess your computer, except for Windows but it's too late for that one. :tazz:

Congratulations your log now appears to be clean. ;)

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

Detect and Remove Programs:
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
Prevention Programs:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
Other necessary Programs:
  • AntiVirus Program<= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kapersky, this is a must have.
  • Firewall<= A firewall is definatley a must have. Two good free versions are Sygate and ZoneLabs.
  • More Secure Browser<= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera and SlimBrowsers are good as well.
And also see TonyKlein's good advice
So how did I get infected in the first place? and AntiSpyware Net's spyware article: Spyware, Adware, Malware: What it is, how it got on my computer, how to get rid of it, and how to prevent it.
