Problems with Easy Media Creator 9 install on Vista.
Downloaded program from Roxio and did a "clean" installation which seemed to go OK, but was very slow. On startup boot I get the following messages:

1. Resource Loader: Load Image Method - Skin image "menuseparator.png" formed but cannot be loaded.
2. Runtime Error - Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Program:...ommon Files\Roxio\Shared\9.0\Shared Com\RoxWatch Tray 9 .exe - The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information.
3. ROXMMT Tray App Module has stopped working currently. Windows will close program and notify you if a solution is available.

After clicking through the above, when I click on the progam icon the program does not open, but starts a "Preparing to Install", and begins to re-install the program, which takes about 10 -15 minutes. At the conclusion of the re-install the program opens and seems to run fine, but I haven't tried all the functions yet. The MS Config Services shows that RoxioDB 9, Roxio UPNP Renderer 9, Roxio UPNP Server 9, and Live Share P2P Server 9 are all "stopped". Roxio Hard Drive Watcher 9 is the only Roxio service running. I cannot turn any of the services on with Task Manager - I get the message: Cannot start - Operation could not complete. Access denied.

I have performed all the fixes recommend on Roxio Support website: Uninstalled the application as recommended, and did a fresh "clean" install. Same problems...

Any help in resolving these issues would be appreciated. Thank you...PFT

well you definatly have an issue. Roxio isn't supporting 9 on vista. All versions prior to 10 are not vista compatable.

I wonder if you browse the install folder (something like /programfiles(x86) ) and look for the uninstall file. if you can find it then right click and
1)run in xp compatability mode
2)run as administrator

If not, then I don't have any other suggestions for you at this time.

Thanks Starjax for your reply...

I have already tried the compatability mode for install. Same problems. EMC Roxio support is of no help at all. The version I downloaded is 9.1 which is advertised by Roxio as being their Vista upgrade. I don't think this version is ready for Vista prime time yet. After finally opening the program I discovered that about half of the applications would not run. I kept getting "runtime" error messages, and the application would not even open.

To make a long story short, Roxio has a 15 day return policy on downloaded products. After trying for three days to get the program up and running, I have decided that any more effort would be wasted and I have canceled the purchase and uninstalled the product.

Thanks again...pft

I have the same error message but use XP. None of my pgms will run unless I access them from my pgm files to open. I have run a scandisk in safe mode with no results. I have also tried to do a system recover; also no luck. The only way I'm able to contact you is because i'm using my lap top. thanks for any help you can provide.
