I've checked sound/volume controls and everything is turned on and all the way up, but there's absolutely no sound except for a soft static noise when I try adjusting my speakers. Sites such as youtube and veoh has no sound at all...

However Windows Media Player, iTunes etc works fine...I don't know what's going on here...

Also I know it must be the cam, because I installed this also at another house, and the exact same thing happened. Anybody know what's going on here? Thanks.

I don't totally understand the situation.

When you plug in the camera you don't have any sound from the speakers or the microphone?
Did you connect it to the red\pink jack?
Did you check the settings of the microphone? is the mute off? You may want to connect it to the line in if all else failed.

Here is a picture of the setting of the record - notice that the mute is marked so in this state it will give no sound.
