Good morning,

Thank you for your reply.

If you knew what I have been going through <_< :D :D ...yes all of the above!

My control panel decided it did NOT want to work..on strike, will not give links to jobs it could do, nothing.
I'd try to click on something, my pointer would turn into an hourglass, from an arrow...and that was it! DONE!

Called IBM, they gave me this bad news, I needed to re-format my pc....
Sweating, heart thumping, I'm in grave fear for my life.
Disconnect my printer, turn my pc off...then turn it on and keep tapping my F11 key till something happens...NO, NOT ME! I'll break something, or something will go wrong!!!

After a sleepless night, called IBM again, and this new guy was more calming, so thats what I did.
Now I'm re-formated, have my internect connection again..and have some problems solved?
I will need to re-install my printer, and get things back in order.
I was also told to only install "Critical Updates" from Microsoft.... this may have caused my problem?
Who knows its just nerve wracking!

I'll go check out the brower site, again thank you for your help, and link.

Well at least I did get a book that I was reading finished.

"Detectives on Everest" The 1991 Reshearch Expedition to try and find Andrew "Sandy" Irvine.

As I type this people are out trekinng, and more on Mt. Everest, to date this year I think the count is 6 dead!
Thats a lot worse than what I had to do. LOL

Have a good day, I'll get back to normal slowly.

Hello,

A very surprised lady.

Went to this addy

http://www.mozilla.o...oducts/firefox/ .... so as to download their browser...and at the half way point in my download, guess who attacked me?

The "Sasser Worm"...now no one has seen anyone so upset as I was...

Called IBM, given some advice but in truth my cool head, plus the fact that I had just used the recovery system, and IBM advice to go for the MS patch, saved me and my pc.

I have since updated all "Critical Updates" from MS, and Nortons.
Can you believe it I even was able to re-connect myself to my internet provider, and get my e-mail back up.
Will wonders ever cease? LOL <_<

Curious, how safe is that Firefox web site.
I don't dare go near that website. I had thought of sending them an e-mail, but scared to go there.

I don't know exactly how these WORMS travel, why did I get caught there while downloading?

Do I really NEED TWO BROWSER?

Any input about my experiece will be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Maddie

You get the Sasser worm simply being connected to the Internet without the proper patches applied. It doesn't matter which sites you're connecting to. The Mozilla Firefox site is perfectly safe. :D

Good job on the recovery too! <_<
