Ok, so I have had problems with my computer for months now. I stoped using IE and downloaded FoxFire because every time I open IE I get hit with 12 popup windows. Once my computer starts if I do not go to Windows Task Manager and end 10-15 processes processes my computer will freeze. Also when I run Ad-Aware and Spyboth Search and Destory it cannot delete Ceres.dll. I know where the file is and try to remove it myself, but it will not let me. Ha, can anyone help me? I hope I did everything right. Thanks for all the help!

Ha, I thought that I might have been forgotten but I didn't want to bump my post thinking that then I would never get a reply. Heres my current HJ scan. I still have ceres.dll on my computer but I found a site that has a walk through for getting it off.

Please download ccleaner. Don't run it. We will run it later.

I need you to do something before we start: find this file and tell me what properties are contained within. Is it part of your Iriver package? If not, proceed with the following fix.

Reset your restore points. Don't enable it again until we are through. The instructions are below.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

(Windows XP)
1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Ha, at least you are helping me now! :tazz: I just had a question, when you say THIS file which one do you mean? Are you talking about the ccleaner or another file? In order to save time I'm going to go ahead and follow the directions below. I still have the Iriver software so I can always reinstall it if something happens.

Ok, went thru directions. Ran into a few problems. 1. Couldn't find C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/kgmoq.dll found kgmoqe, kgmoqa, kgmoqf (which were XML files) and then a kgmodg which was a MFC Application file. Not sure if those will cause a problem. 2. Then I couldn't find C/WINDOWS/isrvs, I had all of the hidden folders showing and even did a system search for the file, but cannot find it. I see from my new HJT log it is still causing problems on my system. 3. Ran Ad-Aware and still finding ceres.dll on my system, :mad: and I have yet to find a program that will remove it. I found this site that seems to give a pretty good walkthur of getting it off: http://www.trendmicr.....5FTRANSPOND.A
So will try that next.

Ccleaner-btw what an awesome program!

You have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Go to add/remove programs and see if FunWebProducts-MyWay or anything similar is listed. If so, remove it.

Then run ccleaner again.

  • Download finditnt2000xp.zip.
  • Unzip the contents of finditnt2000xp.zip to a convenient location.
  • Navigate to the Find It NT-2K-XP folder and double-click on find.bat.
  • A command prompt will open and it will search your computer for malicious files.
  • Once it has finished a Notepad window will pop up with output.txt.
  • Copy the entire contents of output.txt into your next post.

Locate fixme.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it.
You will receive a prompt similar to: "Do you wish to merge the information into the registry?".
Answer "Yes" and wait for a message to appear similar to "Merged Successfully".
Restart your computer.

* Launch Notepad, and copy/paste the box below into a new text file. Save it as Unreg.bat and save it on your Desktop.


regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\isrvs\msfiltis.dll
      regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\isrvs\msdbhk.dll
      regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\isrvs\sysupd.dll


Locate Unreg.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it.
