I have a BEFW1154 Linksys router that I have a question about. When you go to 192.168.1.1 and get the setup page, on the wireless tab it shows " Basic Rate ". It shows that it has 2 options; 1-2 Mbps (default) or 1-2-5.5-11 Mbps. It was set on the default, if I set it to the latter one will it make it faster or mess it up? Underneath that is " TX Rate " and it is set to 1-2-5.5-11 Mbps (default) and the other option is 1-2 Mbps, what does all of this mean?

It shouldn't hurt anything. Set it to the faster setting. It will only go as fast as the slowest piece of equipment.
