hello
I recently had a problem with my computer dealing with the error message "windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt. system 32.hal.dll.
I had just got done restoring my computer back to it's original setting with my files being saved but i got this message and freaked. i researched it online but i found only answers for xp home and pro. none for WMC. i researched your website and found the same. i am looking for a method to fix this problem. i have a hp that came preinstalled with WMC but i have my recovery disks. my main concern is the things i have on my hard drive that i may not be able to recover. i am either looking for a fix to the boot problem or a way to transfer my files from my hard drive on my computer to one of my externals. it is not a time sensitive issue but i am looking to get it fixed asap.

if i could get some direction on how to fix this problem or simple solutions i would greatly appreciate it

thanks for your time

p.s if additions info is needed, i will check this post often
