Greetings, this is my first time posting on this forum. I hope you all can help. I was cleaning up a friend's computer and was attempting to turn on her firewall in Windows xp home, but when I go to Network connections and try to access the properties for her dial up connection, nothing comes up. I have also tried clicking the "change settings of this connection" selection on the left, as well as attempting to access the properties of the connection from the internet properties menu... nothing works. I can access all the other connection's properties just fine, and have no trouble with the properties of her other files and folders. Any ideas? I recently installed and ran both Ad-aware and Spybot, and together they found something like 600 different things on her computer that we got rid of. I was thinking maybe a virus, but not sure. Let me know, thanks!

Welcome to the GTG Dragon Seeker :D

There is probably some junk left over causing your problem. Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results. <_<

Ok, I won't see my friend again until Tuesday at work, but I saved the program to disc so I can take it with me. I figured it would be a good idea to go ahead and run the program on my own two computers while I was at it and see if I had anything on them... here is the scan of my laptop.
