I am trying to install Warcraft 3 but when i run the install.exe or autoplay, an error message saying "no program start menu found" appears. what could be the problem. im suspecting my OS (windows vista ultimate). But im sure its not a compatibility issue because i have a friend who was able to run warcraft 3 in a vista computer.

Hi guys , this is the solution

1) Go to Start > Run > type regedit
2) Navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Shell Folders"

if there is no string in there called "Programs" , create 1 - right click - new - String value , and then enter the line below into the value box :

C:\\Users\\%USERNAME%\\AppData\\Roaming\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programs

I replaced the \\ with \ in the value and I got the installer to run. Try that.

I have found problems like this as well. Every topic says to make a new string value called programs in the Shell Folders.
The issue I have run into is that I don't HAVE a folder by that name. I have USER SHELL FOLDERS, but nothing minus the USER.

I have assumed that these are the same things, but the Blizzard games still won't install.

I am using 32-Bit Vista on a laptop. Anyone know a solution?
