Hi all,
Many thanks to Keith who has very patiently tried to sort out my slow start up problem all last week,, but alas,,, i am still having problems ! !

The main problem is that when i boot up the pc, its oem compaq splash screen stays on for over a minute before moving onto the next stage of boot.

I have completly reformatted the drive,, reinstalled xp pro,, but the same problem exists,,,wasnt there a few weeks ago though, as the splash screen in question used to just come on for a second or two,, then xp would load.

As a last ditched attempt ,,i have ran a hijackthis log,,, in the hope that it might pick up something causing this problem,,, if not,, then i am at a total loss as to why this is happening.

I have kaspersky 7,,, adaware, and spybot,,, all scans have come up completly clean with not one instance of walware to be found anywhere.

I have defagged the 2 drives,, i have optomised and tuned up with tuneup program recommended by keith,,

PLEASE,,, will some look over this log ! ! just to rule out anything nasty...
