hey, AOEIII works well on my pc.
the only time it dosen't is in the sea. Whenever i attack with ships or another ship attacks me, the game slows down ALOT, taking like 1 minute for a small move, it really slows down alot and sometimes it even crashes when i use the special skill for ships or just normal attacking. I'm stuck on one of the early missions because it starts off with ships and i either lag alot or crash. It stops me from carrying on with the game.
Is this a common problem or a problem with my pc?

Hi,

What are the specs of your PC?
If you don't know then please download and run SysSpec. Run the file > click on the system button > click edit > click copy to clipboard and then paste it with your reply.

Try updating your hardware drivers.

Your graphics card drivers should be here > http://downloadcente...a...ms&lang=eng

Your motherboard and sound drivers can be found on the HP support site.

Depends on what Nvidia drivers they are. You don't have an Nvidia graphics card but a suppose it might be an Nvidia motherboard chipset.

What model is your HP PC? (it should say on a label on the top of it or on the side).

The first Intel link was for the motherboard chipset, oops linked to the wrong driver there but it doesn't matter it was the correct one for your motherboard.

The follow link is the graphics card driver.

thx but i've already downloaded that too.
as i said, i cant find any motherboard drivers to upgrade to.
by the way i tried nvidia and had problems with it.
i found some nvidia nforce drivers for intel. the 2 download steps went fine but when the install shield wizard completed, the install just shut down. This isn't a problem for wrong drivers because i downloaded a different one before and that one came up with a wrong driver error message.

No you've updated all your drivers, you should look to change the graphics options in the game. Lower the resolution, change the texture quality, turn of anti-aliasing, turn off anisotropic filtering, reduce or turn off shadows etc etc.

thx, it boosted the game speed when im not having naval battles but it still crashes and/or gets really slow when my ships have war with others. well now to avoid that i could scroll away from the naval battle to avoid the crashes but it still gets slow for a while.
still though, is there any way i could fix this problem with the ships? it's very important in the game and i'd rather not play than play with numerous crashes.

Have you reduced all the other graphics options? Is there one for water detail or shadows?
Have you got the latest patch installed?
