In Excel, formatting cells, Number, Date:
There is no code listed for month and year (09/04) and when you go to custom and use the code mm-yy, if you enter a date in the cells for previous years, it will automatically change to the current year (05). Can someone please help?

What's happening is when you enter March, 2004 as 03/04 the program is reading it as March 04, 2005 and then applies the formatting of mm/yy to obtain 03/05. If you enter 03/2004 you will see 03/04 and the program changed the input to 03/01/2004.
You have a problem when you only enter a portion of a date. If you use this formatting for data entered elsewhere, there will be no problem. However for entering dates, it is better to require the entire date to be entered.
Good luck,
Tony
