Can't download HijackThis at all

Hi...I have tried to download Hijackthis at least 10 times from various locations and the same thing keeps happening. The normal dl box will appear and I have tried clicking to OPEN or to SAVE (to it's own file) and both produce the same results. The dl will go thru but then the Windows Media Player appears, then I get a box that says "Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported". Is the Media Player even supposed to open when I try to dl Hijackthis? I have a Compaq comp and run Windows 98. Why can't I dl this program? Any clues? Thanks!
