A few days ago i had to format a computer because it was full of viruses and spyware. I didn't have the motherboard drivers, so i thought i would look for them on the internet.
I had managed to find out the motherboard's model by taking note of all the letters and numbers that are shown when the computer is turned on (the same screen where the memory check takes place).
It said M810D SIS 740.
I also run Sisoft Sandra and it gave me a more complete report of this motherboard. It said that the manufacturer is ECS.
With all this info i started looking for the drivers, it was pretty easy with the video and lan but, here's the issue, I can't find the sound driver for this MB!!!.
I tryed downloading all sort of drivers that were supposed to work with it but they don't.
The OS is Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2, and it keeps telling me that the driver i want to install it's not compatible.
I also tryed running the SIS web application (http://www.sis.com/s...port_prodid.htm) that detects the drivers for a SIS chipset based MB, it says i have to install Sis 7012 sound driver but Windows says it's not compatible!!.
It might be useful to mention that i could install one driver (C-media AC 97) but no sound came out from the speakers (they were correctly plugged in and are working).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

After some research, I am finding info that the M810D is a PC Chips motherboard. I am also finding that the ECS model is called K7S0M and that they are the same motherboard just different labels on them. Here is a link to the ECS drivers . I am having no luck getting to the PCChips website.

Although your issue may seem similar there can be other factors that may need to be resolved.
By bumping on someone's topic it makes it confusing for the tech to understand who they are helping. This can in turn cause the wrong support to be given and can cause instability or worse to happen to your system. Thank you for your cooperation.
