Ok, I'm completely baffled on this one. I've run Spybot and Ad-Aware, and they don't seem to be picking up what I'm looking for. At first I had a problem with wp.exe. Luckily, I was able to get rid of it. However, popuper.exe won't go away at all. CTRL-ALT-DELeting and chosing to end the process doesn't do much good. It gets started up IMMEDIATELY after I end it. As I'm sure you've guessed already, it throws me a random pop-up for [bleep]/dating stuff every few minutes, and I get a "Windows" error messege in the tray every now and then (certainly not from Microsoft though) that tells me I have 4 active exploits or something like that. When you click it, it takes you to a "Windows" listing of recommended Spyware/Malware removal tools. I checked my Startup list in msconfig, but I find nothing that really looks anything like popuper.exe (spelled with only 1 p by the way, that's not me mispelling it). Sigh...so here I am. I've followed all the steps you listed (using spybot and ad-aware, etc), and so here is my HJT log: please help me before I go nuts. Oh, almost forgot. Ever since this whole thing has started, I am unable to alter most of my Display Properties. Yesterday my desktop background turned into a BSOD, and I'm like "What the...?," figured it was a stupid joke from the virus, and I went to my Display Properties to change it back to it's previous image. Now I have only 2 tabs: Screen Saver and Settings. After I got rid of wp.exe, I was able to get rid of the bsod background image (which was still in the Windows GUI, I was able to move my mouse around and use my desktop, just had a BSOD background for some reason). Now it's a plain black background that I can't alter because I only have those two previously mentioned tabs. So anyways, without any further a do, here's my HJT log:
