hi, can somebody explain to me how i go about fixing this problem of mine... :whistling:

for about a week now everytime i log into windows live messenger (on any account) , after 30 seconds i get several error messages showing:

"The procedure entry point InternetGetSecurityInfoByURLW could not be located in the dynamic link libary WININET.DLL.".

this has caused me two problems to me knowlange: 1, i now do not get my offline messages from anybody. 2, Sometimes after these messages, messenger will close, but then i will reopen it error messages then it will work fine.

im sorry if you have answered this question before.

ps ive done several AD-AWARE scans and antivirus scans but they found nothing i think would of caused this problem...

What Operating system are you using?
What version of messenger do you have?
What version of Internet Explorer do you have?

Sounds like a corrupted file.

If you have XP installation disk insert it into the drive and click: Start > Run. Type: sfc /scannow and let the process run to the end at which the dialog box will just disappear.

I have heard of older OS's causing problems like this with newer versions of Messenger.
sfc /scannow should fix any corrupted Windows files.
