changing my laptop log in password

i was looking to change my password that i use to log into my computer but i don't really know how.... not sure if this is the right forum for this but if you could explain to me how to change my pw i would appreciate it. thanks

Hi cdlobie...

Log in to your account, open Control Panel (Classic View), and double click on the "User Accounts" icon. In the User Accounts window, open your account and click on the link to "Change Password". Follow the prompts to make the change.

it won't let me change it because the domain the one i use is my school one from when i attended the college.... how do i go about changing it now or should i create a new user name and domain?
