We just installed a Win 2003 server to replace a NT server. At the same time we install a 24 port switch to replace a 10baseT hub. When installing the switch workstations were getting disconnected from the network and the workstations had to reboot to reconnect. We are using the win 2003 domain controller and it was mainly Windows 98 workstations. Going back to the slow hub seemed to stop most of the problems??

One additional note the wiring looks old and frequently terminates at a punchdown block and then wires with ends are punchedown with RJ 45 ends. Could low quality wiring say CAT 3 cause a switch to go crazy?
