Just did a clean install of windows XP, installed all motheboard/video drivers and SP2.

Having two strange issues:

1. On shutdown windows will shutdown, but the motherboard fans will keep going, but it doesn't happen every time. It will shutdown ok one time and not the next.

2. I have a slave drive (former master) that will sometimes disappear. Right now I can see it fine, start up just prior it wasn't there.

I recently updated the BIOS, but am still using the old motherboard drivers. Could that be a factor in the mysterious goings on?

Totally helpless (apparently).
