It is basically a generic brand usb.I had it connected with windows vista and working, then decided to use it as extra memory....something happened had to reinstall vista...since then it recognizes and installs it but it does not show up in my computer at all.It is in device manager everything looks fine it says it is working but its really not anything I can do. I believe it needs to be reformatted but It needs to show up fro me to do that I think.

Not sure what you need to know
It is an Acer Aspire 5100
AMD turion 64 mobile technology MK-36

running windows Vista Ultimate

1 gig Ram

In device manager it shows as
USB mass storage device

Driver is USBSTOR.SYS

THanks

Run Management console (right click on "My computer", then "manage")

Go to Disk Management (or something like that - sorry, i'm currently not running english version of Windows).

Check if you can see your pendrive there.
If yes then it may need drive letter assigned (or changed as it may be in conflict with network drive).
You can also format device from this tool if needed.
