I was trying to set up a Thunderbird accout using my Hotmail email address but it doesnt work. Does anybody know how? thanks in advance

You need a third party application like Hotmail Popper. Hotmail doesn't allow external access :tazz:

No. Netscape WebMail and Hotmail use proprietary protocols. To access WebMail directly through an e-mail client requires you to use Netscape 6+ with AIM; to do so with Hotmail requires either Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. Of course, you can access your WebMail account on the Web at http://webmail.netscape.com/, or Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com/.

WAIT! I'm sorry. I lied. I did a little more research for you and found a program that will allow you to use Hotmail with Thunderbird. Here is the site:

I got it to work...now I just cant send messages. My outgoing server settings our messed up though
