My friend is new to the internet and as asked me a question. What does this warning mean:- The modem cannot be locked, possible system error, might require re-boot to use the modem. I have no idea :whistling:  His system is winows XP home.

Has he tried to reboot to free the modem? Most likely some kind of fax software has control of the modem.

:whistling: I have since discovered it has something to do with BT Yahoos Modem Lock Feature, which is designed to protect the modem from being Hijacked.
