Trendnet wireless problems

Well I have tried everything i can think of but i still cant get this to work. I just got a new laptop and i cant for the love of me get it to connect to the Trendnet wireless router i have. I have gotten it to connect directly to the internet not using the router but then of course the other computers in the house cant be connected, and it was also used at a friends house using wireless signals.

Manufacturer: Acer inc.
Product name: Aspire 3680
Operating system: Vista home
Chipset: intel 955xm
Processor: intel celeron 1.60
memory 1gb
ethernet card:marvel yukon 88e8038 pci-e ethernet controler
wireless card:Broadcom 802.11g network adaptor

wireless router
trendnet TEW-432BRP

I would really appreciate any help that comes my way, been trying to get this fixed for a week or so
