What is NDIS User mode I/O Driver??
Because its came up on my firewall a few weeks back so i thoughht it was windows so i alowed it (i have blocked it for now)
now on my firewall it is allways acsessing the internet when before it didnt
is this meant to do this or is someone using it to attak my pc?? as my firewall is nowadys wasblocking abouut 33 bytes of data but has gone up to being in the hurdreds

Btw my firewalls is sygate

I would suspect that it's the Wireless Zero Configuation service using ndisuio.sys.

Try this:

Go to Administrative Tools/Services and find the Wireless Zero
Configuration and disable it.

Check the Dependencies and see whether it's that it's using NDIS.

Yes it is using it
Should i turn it off as i have a hardwired connection to my router?

You should be able to enable it again if it doesn't stop the Internet access request or if it causes you a problem with your wired connection..

Anyway it seems to have worked but i still get little attaks off of one of mylaptops
is this just a bit of blocked comminications? as my router logs says its DOS if that means anything
But disableing it seems t have worked fine it dosent randomly always try connecting to some webserver now

I'm not familiar with router logs, but DOS means Denial of Service (PDF). In another context Disk Operating System, Dept. of State and on and on!
