Version of AIM Email?

My AIM email has become "truncated" with little tiny squares on the left hand side of my screen now representing the in-box, trash, spam folders, etc. Nothing I do gets it back to its old normal status. Based on what I have read here, I suspect I wish to download AIM email, version 5.9 and then uninstall the previous installed AIM email software but before I do that, I would like to determine which version I currently have installed. I have no idea how to do this and can find no support from AOL/AIM. If you have ideas on how to fix my current email, that would be appreciated as well. I am using Mozilla Firefox and Windows XP. Thank you for any ideas!
