My external Hard drive and my media player are no longer detected after i plug them into the USB can any one help me out?

1: Try to plug them to another port and see if they work.
2: Try to plug them to another computer and see if they work.

Yea it works on two other computers. i was playing music off my buddy's laptop last night...do u think i need to reinstall missing drivers?
