For some reason, Windows Security does not recognize my Norton programs. It states "virus protection not found" along with the firewall protection. I have not changed anything and Norton is running just fine. I never turned off Windows Defender, but when I try to enable it, it searches for new definitions and then states no new definitions are available, but does not enable itself.
The RED X keeps flashing and reminding me. This Vista program is more trouble than what it's worth.
Can anyone help?

Thank you.
I am using my Vista OS on a new computer, although my other computer is XP.
