Is it possible to quote a post from a locked thread?

And can you retain the font size and color in the quote?

Thanks

Hi stege:

Admins/Mods please correct me if I am wrong: Just my zero cents, the best way to reference them (Locked Topics) is to use link(s)
:D

Hello, if you want to quote from a locked topic you have two options, either link to the post directly (as suggested) and/or copy and paste the desired content to post in fresh quote boxes.

This was a copy / paste and edited internally by me. It's the easy to quote a locked topic or similar.

Good point. If the thread is locked you cannot retain original formatting.

We don't close threads unless there's a reason we don't want users to reply to the thread in question. If a thread is locked, you shouldn't be able to quote it; however, you can link to it, which would give you the option to ask a specific question. if you have reason to reply to a locked thread, you should read all of the responses and give some thought as to why a thread is closed to begin with.
