at the start of this year it could be argued that linux was, in the view of computer makers, some minor or fringe opperating system, but first Dell with opting to release some of their computers running with Ubuntu linux, and then Levono(IBM's computers, just think thinkpad types)opting to release some of their computer running with Suse linux and now Hewlett-Packard releasing some of their computers running under Red Hat linux, I think that we can take it that computer makers a starting to take linux seriously, what happens next is anyones guess but I personally feel that the distro-war(that is which distrobution of linux will become mainstream) is going to heat up now, so the questions is how Microsoft will recapture the light system range of computers(since both vista cannot work as it is too resorce heavy and people rightly wishing to remain on their computers while they still function), thanks

HP is hardly a GNU-Bee to Linux. They have been selling Linux boxes to the movie animation industry for quite a while in large numbers, thousands of machines. But not to small business or private individuals.

Yeah, Tyger is right about HP. Back in 2005, the company I work for, Teche Federal Bank, got a good deal on some HP D220m machines that came bundled with MandrakeSoft instead of Windows. Interestingly enough, the distro both Tyger and I use, PCLinuxOS 2007, is a derivative of Mandrake. :)
