Help with port forwarding

I've tried many times before and it has not worked. I was wondering if someone could help me out with opening up a port. I've got a Asus WL 600G modem. I've visited that port forwarding website and that didnt help much. so can anyone help me out by telling me what to do before i start port forwarding and how to get it up and running

Something else to remember here is the windows firewall. Even if you successfully configure your network device to forward something coming in on a specific port, the windows firewall will block it, unless you make changes to that as well.

I want to port forward so I can download better from utorrent. Also my anti virus program is called Symantec anti virus

We here at GeeksToGo will not assist you with issues relating to P2P file sharing programs. While many of these programs are-in-and of themselve legal, most things aquired by their use are not. Instead of attempting to differentiate between the legal use of P2P programs and the illegal use thereof, we have decided to stop helping with issues regarding this software. It is also in your best interest to know that many P2P software packages come bundled with spyware/malware/virii and that their use greatly increases the chances of your computer becoming infected. I strongly suggest that you uninstall these programs and refrain from using them at all costs.
