sound works except when playing games?

Hi! Wondering if anyone can help me. We just bought a new computer a couple of months ago (Dell Dimension 8300) with a wireless mouse and keyboard.

In the last day or 2 when my kids try to play their games they get no sound. (I can hear the dial up for when I'm connecting to internet...so know there is sound there somewhere.)

Anyone familiar with the keyboard? Is there a button they may have pushed that muted the sound? that now I need to push to make it work again?
