I just had my power supply fail, it would appear that in the process it did some damage to the boot sector on the drive hard drive. Because now that i have the new supply installed when booting up i get a long delay followed by

"primary hard disk drive 1 not found."

With the option to press f1 to continue or f2 to go into the setup.

If i Hit F1 the computer boot's as it normally would and everything works great.
Is there a easy fix or do i have to live with this glitch/ re-install windows.

... I did some searching and it seems like allot of people have experienced this problem especially on the dell web sight; but i have yet to find a answer.

thanks in advance.

if you can get into windows....go ahead and run a chkdsk

press "start", choose "run", type "CMD" (without quotes), then type "chkdsk /r /f" (without the quotes)
it will probably tell you it needs to run this on the next reboot, go ahead and reboot then let the process run untill it's finished

report any errors
