Yes, the 32-bit Windows XP will run on any current Intel or AMD processor, including the dual-core and the 64-bit ones.
All you need to be aware of is that if you want to get the 64-bit version of XP it will only run on a system that has a 64-bit processor.

I would recommend the 32bit, because there are still some problems with drivers for 64bit.
(First look at your processor, if it's a 64 bit, then you need the 64-bit windows)
