Cod2 Fps drop

when i play cod2 i will have sudden fps drops from 200 to like 25. Usually happens after i am killed, around bushes, snow, smoke, and firefights. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are my com settings:
Dell dimension DIM9100
Intel® Pentium® 4 Cpu 3.00GHz
2.99Ghz, 512mb of Ram

Nvidia GeFroce 6800

Memory: 256 mb

Video Mode: 1024x768
Screen Refresh Rate: 75Hz
Aspect Ratio: Auto
Texture Filter: Bilinear
Anti-Aliasing: off
Rendering Method Preference: Directx7
Sync Every Frame: No
Optimize for SLI: No
Soften Smoke Edges: off
Texture Settings: All Low

Turn up the texture settings to high or even mabe extra
