Hello, recently my Internet Explorer has been crashing often. The conditions very, but I tend to always have several windows/tabs open with graphically intensive websites like www.espn.com or www.yahoo.com/sports

The message is always the same however:

Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library
Debug Assertion Failed!
Program: C:\Program FIles\ Internet Explorer\ieexplorer.exe
File: dbgheapc
Line: 1132
Expression: _CrtIsValidHeapPointer(pUserData)
For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the visual C++ documentation on assertion.
(Press Retry to debug the application)

Abort Retry Ignore

(end of message)

Line number may vary.

Typically a quick Abort will close IE wo freezing, but any other action will result in the ol' Ctr Alt Del.

Ive been looking at a healthy amount of porn lately (tmi, sorry), but Ive been doing that for years and I still have never gotten anything this bad. It started shortly after I used Windows Live One Care's "safety scanner."

Im thikning I need to reinstall IE, but how? Thanks guys!

I'm getting the same message as you.

Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library
Debug Assertion Failed!
Program: C:\Program FIles\ Internet Explorer\ieexplorer.exe
File: dbgheapc
Line: 1132
Expression: _CrtIsValidHeapPointer(pUserData)

Were you able to fix this?

Thanks.

Hello joyce* and welcome to Geeks to Go!

ieexplorer.exe is a known adware file. I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a HiJackThis Log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a HJT log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).

Regards,

Ax
