After having problems I could only attribute to my modem I bought a new one and installed it successfully. When I try to connect to the internet it connects with no problem, but then disconnects immediately afterwards. I've been thrugh all the settings and everything looks right. Ay ideas what could be the problem here and what I should do? Cheers

This is almost always caused by one of three things:

1) Faulty, corrupt or wrong drivers.
2) Line fault including cable issue or interference from somewhere else (or even, assuming dial-up, somebody picking a phone up somewhere)
3) ISP fault.
