The following instructions can be used for many other applications. Here I am using Itunes as an example.

Issue:
You are unable to uninstall Itunes successfully using Add/Remove Programs

Cause:
Files required for uninstall to be successful have been moved or deleted from the system.

Solution:
1. Download the Windows Installer Utility

a. Log on to the internet.
b. Go to the following website: http://support.micro...kb;en-us;290301
c. Click on the link titled, "Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package now"
d. Choose "Yes" to save the file to your hard drive. As a save location, choose your Desktop.
e. Click on "Save".

2. Install the Windows Installer Utility

a. Close out of any open applications.
b. Double-click on "msicuu2.exe" which should be an icon on your Desktop.
c. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

3. Run the Windows Installer Utility

a. Click on "Start" and select "All Programs".
b. Look for "Windows Installer Cleanup Utility".
c. Once open, you will be presented with a window. Locate Itunes, highlight it, and select "Remove".

Itunes should now be removed from your system.

After I did a system restore my anti-spyware program no longer worked. I tried to uninstall with the program's uninstaller, with the add/remove programs function in the Control Panel, with the Windows Uninstall program, with Revo Uninstaller, and with CCleaner. Nothing worked. After the Windows Uninstall program deleted the entry for Ad-Aware, there were no other entries that had the name Ad-Aware so I couldn't use Revo or CCleaner.

Now when I try to delete the Lavasoft (the company that isssues Ad-Aware) folder from the C-drive, some files remain and I get the message:

"Destination Folder Access Denied." "You need permission to perform this action." I am the administrator and sole user of my computer. How do I get "permission"?

Can you please tell me how I can remove the remnants of Ad-Aware so that I can reinstall the program? When I try to install I get an error because it is unable to uninstall the old version.

Thank you very much.
Pat

:) I used the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility program to remove Microsoft Visio Professional 2007 Trial. It appeared to work because now I can open Excel and Word instantly (it used to take about 2 minutes and would want to open Visio), but I went into the add/remove programs and it is still showing that its on my computer. When I click on remove in there, it says "This product installation has been corrupted. Run setup again from the CD, DVD, or other original installation source." I really need this program off beause it is 2,302MB. It any body could help me I would be very grateful.

Wow, thank you so much!!

A few months ago, my iTunes was continuously bothering me to download the new version, so I did, and the entire thing freaked out, leaving me with no way to use iTunes or QuickTime. No matter how many times I tried to uninstall or install them, I always got the same error message, and I was stuck! Now my music is a big part of my life, and without iTunes, my computer recognizes my iPod Touch as a camera and nothing else, so I had no computer access to my music whatsoever! Those were a terrible few months.

However, with this guide, I just got iTunes and QuickTime up and running, good as new!! Thank you so much!!

You can just go onto VIsio Toolbox website, where you can get all the help you need.
