Well, I got a laptop from a friend of mine who said her grandson crashed it. I said I would try to fix it, and to let me have it, so she did.

Well, it runs Windows XP home edition, but even when I load it into safe mode, it doesn't load up Windows, like...at all.

After many failed attempts to load Windows normally, I then booted it up and pushed F5. I then went into "tools" and Hard Drive self Test. I ran the test and it came back with a Test Status: Failed #1- 07 Fail

What should I do? I don't have any software to go with it, all I have is the charger and the laptop itself.

fleamailman,

I did as said and I'm reinstalling Windows as we speak. ^_^

The final verdict after I restarted is...

Yay! It worked! ^_^ The only problem is that there is no sound card detected on the machine...x.x

perhaps you will find the driver of the soundcard here

http://www.oldversio...p?n=everesthome

or another idea is to try the model number at the maker's site
