yeah it is. u played for 10 min and then started lagging??? wat??? :whistling: :blink: :help: you know does ur antivirus do background scans? and wat is ur antivirus??? try playing GTA without the antivirus running and c whether it lags then :) :) :)

No it doesn't run any background scans. I'm a little concerned about turning it off though. I use BitDefender v10.

Sometimes, when exiting the game and starting it up again fixes the problem. At other times, NOTHING works. :whistling:

do you play with the CD in your drive???
cos if you do im perfectly sure that it is lagging because the CD may contain corrupted data which makes it longer to read (thus resulting in the lagging) or else your CD Drive may be a slow reader due to age or malfunction. The same thing happened to me!!! my CD was corrupted and it lagged for me. so i replaced the CD!!! :help:

OR

if you are playing with no cd then im sure that you have installed corrupted files you computer may not be able to read it that fast!!!

I am playing without the CD. It's too much effort inserting it every time. :blink: If the files are corrupted, how do I fix them? :whistling:

it lags in your graphics right? in your game play right? just try out this patch for here

Downloaded the patch. Still no improvement. Man, I'm getting fed up with this game. :blink: :whistling:

At this point there isn't much else that can be done. I seem to remember that this issue was a known bug with no resolution.

can i also say run a defrag it will take a while but that can sort out lag maybe the sound files are spread out badly on the disk and also run clean up and delete other things from HD it could be a space problem

I got lag with Vice City when I ran it on a PC with integrated sound card. Is your sound card integrated?
